about

I grew up in the 80s. In a declining city next to the Mersey. I didn't have some school lessons for a year. Saw the aftermath of the riots. Watched my mum on a picket line. But people always took care of each other. Especially when people died at a football match. This is my attempt to pay tribute to the integrity, courage and fight of many of the people of Liverpool.

lyrics

You do something, with nothing.
Then laugh when it falls apart.
We're ascending, descending.
The sunset on this dying heart.

You abandoned me and left me to decline.
A managed exercise, a simple way to die.
Our young and old are caught, A fight for life. A fight for precious air.
So do your battle well tonight.

It feels perfect, to protect.
The years of work and home.
We're ascending, descending.
You build a wall to be alone.

You abandoned me and left me to decline.
A managed exercise, a simple way to die.
Our young and old are caught, A fight for life. A fight for precious air.
So do your battle well tonight.

A rose for every year.
A thorn for every tear.
Take and break our pride, til nothings left inside.

You abandoned me and left me to decline.
A managed exercise, a simple way to die.
Our young and old are caught, A fight for life. A fight for precious air.
So do your battle well tonight.
Do your battle well tonight.
